Patriarchy, God’s Plan

Without question, the major battle right now in our culture is redefining gender roles. While this has been building for decades, we have arrived at the point that literally, everything gender related is being redefined. In one sense this is highly disturbing, but on another level it is not surprising at all. This complete flipping of the system is one of the final straws in the revelation that Western culture is a product of Greco-Roman paganism.

Most in the Hebrew roots movement already recognize and reject the pagan elements that have long been hidden within Christianity and have been sifted. But there is much more sifting to come, both for ourselves and our many brothers who are yet in the church system. We have not ‘arrived,’ rather we have simply answered the call in one area…. but, there is more if we are truly to submit ourselves to the whole counsel of God’s Word and seek the restoration of kol Israel.

Solomon and the baby… today!

IMG-20161015-WA0003I woke with a jolt, realizing that I did not know where I was. The sheets and pillow felt different in the darkened room.  The sounds were all wrong. I lay motionless, frozen, waiting for the fog to lift from my mind as my eyes glanced around the room in an attempt to orient myself.

At the same time, strangely, the story of Solomon, the two harlots and the baby was playing in the corners of my awareness. Slowly, I began to recall my surroundings.  Kelly and I had fallen into bed exhausted the night before from hours of travel and late arrival at Tzemach’s guest house in Giv’at Ye’arim, Israel.  It was Shabbat morning and we were again in the Land of the Patriarchs!

But, why Solomon? I pondered before slowly getting out of bed to stand on the outer porch with a cup of hot tea to listen to the birds as the sun climbed higher in the sky.  I had been considering the whole division of the baby a week earlier, but it seemed an odd thing to wake thinking about.  I pushed it to the back of my mind with the excitement of the day. Two sisters needed…

A dear friend and prayer warrior feels called to come to Israel in October for a nine day prayer journey.  She and a friend believe that they are supposed to be a four-some.  If you are a lady who feels called to this place and time, please contact me and I will connect you with the lady heading this team up for a specific assignment.

Shalom!

Heading back to Israel…

The sunset was stunning as we saw hurricane Florence from the Almighty’s perspective. We were not scheduled to fly out until tomorrow, but the deteriorating weather and Abba’s provision carried us out 24 hours early. What a blessing! Miss the storm AND get another day in Israel. Win – win!

Details of our escape are posted at aniyosef.com.

As I looked down on the sunset while it slowly changed through a spectum of vibrant colors, I

Traveling home

I love to travel but must say, it is a

sickness. Somehow airports, security, sitting and food (airport and airplane) are either bad or worst.

We arrived at Ben Gurion early only to find out our flight is already delayed nearly two hours…. aaargh… so, we sit.

Boys were hungry and we all agreed on burgers… predictably

Does God have two brides??

The knee jerk reaction from both Jews and Christians is a resounding, “NO!!!”  But, does Scripture bear this out, or are we willfully blind to a most difficult topic that we relegate to some ancient culture and time?

Buckle your seat belt and let’s examine Scripture without doctrinal or cultural filters.

Ezekiel 23 is a vile and gut wrenching chapter that few read with any pleasure.  Jerusalem and Samaria, capital cities of Judah and Israel respectively, are vividly described as sister brides, wed to God Himself, who commit adulterous acts.

23 The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, “Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother; and they played the harlot in Egypt. They played the harlot in their youth; there their breasts were pressed and there their virgin bosom was handled. Their names were Oholah the elder and Oholibah her sister. And they became Mine, and they bore sons and daughters. And as for their names, Samaria is Oholah and Jerusalem is Oholibah.

Begin by noting that while the language is metaphorical, God is making a very specific point.  This chapter begins with a bold and direct statement: two women, daughters of one mother became His and bore sons and daughters.  This is marriage language that is confirmed again multiple times through the text.  Oholah and Oholibah pursue other lovers and play the harlot to the anger, frustration and embarrassment of God the Husband. From generation to generation….

Numerous passages of Scripture declare, not only that God doesn’t change, but that His Torah, His instructions for righteousness, remain in effect.

Theological contortionist and doctrinal gymnastics aside, the seventh day Sabbath has not been changed (Ex. 20:8-11).   The feasts of the Lord remain in effect (Lev. 23), and eating unclean still brings curses (Is. 66:16-17).

Please.  Read what your Bible actually says, not what man made church doctrines say it says.

Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the Lord , because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

Great disappointment coming for rapture seekers

Many, many Christian television, YouTube channels and radio stations are breathlessly try to outdo each other in trumpeting the rapture implications of the ‘Great Sign’ we are about to see in the heavens.  I, too, have written about the Revelation 12:1-2 sign that will happen this weekend, though I clearly stated that it would not be what the masses want it to be.

Literally, a hundred or more prophesies demand that kol (all) Israel, i.e., both houses, be regathered to the Land.  There is some debate as to the time of this gathering relative to the coming of the Messiah, but certainly, there is no ‘catching away’ to some ethereal nether-region of saints.  That is good Christian fiction.

Anyone who wants to understand Yeshua’s words in Matthew 24:31 concerning the signs in the heavens and the angels sent to gather the elect MUST recognize that Yeshua cites Deuteronomy 30:4 with the direct reference (see the Hebrew) when he says, “…from one end of the sky to the other…”  The conditions for this gathering have not been met, yet!

YES!  The heavens are filled with signs, but the gathering will not happen until those who belong to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob recognize their rebellion against His Torah, the path/way of righteousness, perfectly exampled in Yeshua.  (If it was good enough for Yeshua and the Apostles, then 1800 years of lawless Christian dogma ought not sway us from the way of the King!)  But, maybe the signs are there to wake us up to the fullness of time!

As I have previously stated, I believe that this sign portents a HUGE, even MONUMENTAL, shift in the relationship between the House of Judah and the House of Israel.  Most do not have the eyes to see it… yet, but it will become evident in the very near future.  Just as the sign at the coming of the Messiah in 2 BCE was seen by a few shepherds and some sages from the East, but unnoticed for decades by everyone else, this may have an equally missed point until hindsight clarifies the earth shaking awakening that will accelerate in the coming year or two.

To understand what is happening in the world today, study the massive Torah awakening happening throughout Christendom and then read the prophets!!  Prophecy is unfolding before us and it ALL points to the restoration of Israel, the mission of Yeshua.  Acts 1:6-7!!

Jerusalem has become a cup of trembling…. Buckle your seat belt!

israel-and-the-palestinians-united-nations-mapIt is hard to understate the enormity of recent happenings regarding the fate of Jerusalem.  I am still trying to process it all, but I do think it safe to say that we, mankind, have crossed a threshold into prophetically uncharted waters.

If you have not heard, on Kislev 23, 5777, the United Nations Security Council passed Resolution 2334 that condemns any Israeli activity beyond its 1967 borders.  Further, the Resolution gives teeth to the international body to begin using lawsuits and eventually military action against not only Israel, but any who would side with her.  According to the enforceable text of the Resolution, the Old City, the Western Wall as well as multiple Jewish suburbs around Jerusalem now belong to a non-existent people group commonly called ‘Palestinians.’

The political intrigue leading up to its passing is an interesting study in multiple characters.  Continue reading “Jerusalem has become a cup of trembling…. Buckle your seat belt!”
