In living color…

Someone recently intimated that I should leave behind all I have learned the last five years and return to the church….   I was speechless!  It would be like quitting high def color TV and returning to the monstrous black and white sets of two generations ago!

Only when I began actually doing what the Torah says, i.e., keeping Shabbat and the feasts, eating clean, etc, did the Bible really come alive.  Then, like living color, I began to see and understand parts that I only thought I understood before.

Do you want blessings, wisdom and understanding?  Begin to walk Torah.  Anything else is just grainy black and white.

But his delight is in the Torah of Adonai, and on His Torah he meditates day and night. He will be like a planted tree over streams of water, producing its fruit during its season. Its leaf never droops— but in all he does, he succeeds.

Israel Inspired: What’s the Story with these Torah Observant Gentiles?

As Jeremy returns from his cross country tour, he and Ari discuss the historically unparalleled phenomenon of Torah studying gentiles who love Israel and the Jewish people. What is at the core of this movement? What is the motivation? Tune in as Ari and Jeremy address both the harmony and the tension that this revolution is bringing to the world.

I just listened to a recent episode of Israel Inspired with Rabbis Ari Abramowitz and Jeremy Gimpel titled, What’s the Story with these Torah Observant Gentiles?  WOW!!!  What a great and encouraging listen!  Highly, highly recommended.  The show made my eyeballs sweat a couple times!

We continue to have evidence, over and over, that Abba is doing something amazing in our day.  These two gentlemen not only acknowledge it, but are asking some of the very hard questions that need to be asked?  Who are we?  Why is this happening?  What do they, the Jews, do with us?

This is a MUST listen episode.

Enjoy!

Tolstoy on the Messianic Message…

Actually, Tolstoy was referring to something else, but this quote perfectly fits the Messianic message.

“I know that most men, including those at ease with problems of the greatest complexity, can seldom accept even the simplest and most obvious truth if it be such as would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions which they have delighted in explaining to colleagues, which they have proudly taught to others, and which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabric of their lives.”

    — Count Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy, 1828-1910, Russian short story writer, novelist, playwright, and essayist.

Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to walk out what we are learning as living examples.  When we speak it must be in love and with patience.  And, we need to know when to shut up!  Too often, in our zeal, we say too much.  Paradigm shifting truth can only be absorbed in small increments.

Let the Ruach (Spirit) do His part in His time.  Our job is to simply plant and water….

AoG Pastor Changes to Sabbath and Feast Observance. Why?

Following is a terrific video of Assemblies of God Pastor Scott Hillman humbly and compassionately giving testimony of why and how he and most of his congregation began keeping Shabbat and the Feasts of the Lord.  Interestingly, after many questions and deep discussion, his denomination allowed him to stay and Hillman reveals that he is not alone.  Apparently, there are a number of AoG congregations that have begun to take all of God’s Word seriously.

He is not alone.  I have recently heard that there are more than 100 Southern Baptist Missionaries who self identify as Messianic and walk as the Messiah did, keeping Sabbath, eating clean and keeping Feasts.  I personally know several pastors, one Southern Baptist, who have made the switch in the last year.

Our Father is doing something amazing in our day.  He is bringing His people back to the fullness of Truth and causing them to question doctrines that are not rooted in Scripture, only justified with logic.  May He be praised!!

‘Done away with,’ or merely suspended?

Central to Christendom’s argument that the Torah or Law is ‘done away with’ is the obvious fact that there is no Temple and therefore, significant chunks of instruction cannot be carried out.  But, does the absence of a Temple mean God did away with that part of the Law as Christendom believes?  Or, does it simply mean that for the time being part of the Law cannot be obeyed?

What does Scripture say?  jot tittle

Yeshua, when talking about the Torah and the Prophets, said,

…truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not [a]the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

With heaven and earth still clearly here, are there passages in the Law and the Prophets that have not been fulfilled?

To even the most ill informed reader of Scripture, it is clear there are hundreds, maybe a thousand verses/passages that are unfulfilled.  The most perplexing would be the passages promising future Continue reading “‘Done away with,’ or merely suspended?”

Something to really think about…

wp-1470099422917.jpeg

Yesterday, Kelly and I took several teens, including three of our boys to Camp Mashiach.  Long day driving about 11 hours round trip.

In the latter stages of our return home, I was pondering the following thought:

‘If Yeshua was righteous by keeping the Torah, what makes us think we can be righteous while breaking the Torah?’

I know, someone one will say, ‘but we have the righteousness of Christ.’

I say, ‘if you really think that argument holds water, then why don’t you commit murder, or steal, or lie?’

Truth: The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

Marinate.

Zealous? For what?

image

Acts 21:20 relates that a mark of the apostolic kahal/ekklesia/congregation was being zealous for the Law.

How does the Church today view those ‘zealous for the Law?’. How does God view those ‘zealous for the Law?’

If the Law, the Torah, defines sin and righteousness, how should we view those who denigrate or teach against lawFULL behavior?  Is it just possible that Christendom is wrong and walking contrary to God’s ways?  Is it possible that for the last 1800+ years Christian pastors and theologians commit the same error of the religious leaders Yeshua chastised for elevating their traditions above the simple written Word?

God’s Word says that the Torah brings life, righteousness, blessings and sanctification.  Are you keeping the Sabbath, His Feasts, a clean diet, etc?  Pete Rambo doesn’t say that is ‘the Way,’ God does.

Shema!!  Yeshua died to redeem you from lawLESSness so that you might walk lawfully.

… Messiah Yeshua… gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

The single word that disassembles MUCH Christian doctrine…

One Hebrew word, used 438 times in theIsaiah 40 8 flowers ‘old testament,’ completely disassembles a wide swath of Christian doctrine.  Simply taking the time to understand a single word will peel the mask off of much man-made tradition and false doctrines derived from contextually ignorant theology.  Even a layman with a fifth grade education can study and understand one simple word then use it as a scalpel to dissect truth from tradition.

Are you willing to take the plunge?  Will you dare to see what Scripture says v. ivory tower theonastics?  (Okay, I made that word up.  It comes from theological gymnastics, or contortionism to arrive at a point wholly disconnected from Scripture while seemingly having some validity.)

Buckle your seat belt!

H5769       עלם / עולם     ‛ôlâm
BDB Definition:
1) long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, world
1a) ancient time, long time (of past)
1b) (of future)
1b1) for ever, always
1b2) continuous existence, perpetual
1b3) everlasting, indefinite or unending future, eternity

Let’s consider a few uses that Christendom agrees with:

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever עולם .

Perpetual, everlasting Word!  Right?  The everlasting, unchanging, infallible Word of our God that stands forever!! Continue reading “The single word that disassembles MUCH Christian doctrine…”

Thanks!! (and, interesting week on the blog!!)

First, a huge ‘thank you’ to the readers of this blog!!  While I could write without anybody reading, it is a blessing to hear your voices, share in your excitement of new treasures found in Scripture and be a part of the amazing prophetic work God is doing in our day!

I’m a bit of a geek/numbers guy…  okay, a lot of a geek.  Check out the pillows on our bed..

IMG_20160205_214945840This past week was a very interesting week on the blog.  I had more views in one week that I have had in any month over the last 6-8 months.  And, this month has already exceeded the total hits my first year!   (This blog is a little over three years old.)  For some reason or another, a post I wrote more than two years ago got picked up in a few Facebook circles and in two days it doubled the total number of hits, all-time.  Before that quelled, an article I wrote last month took off like a shot with a couple thousand Facebook shares.  Amazing!

The end result was a week like none I have ever had, and it reminded me of several very important lessons: Continue reading “Thanks!! (and, interesting week on the blog!!)”
