Breaking Israel News has pulled no punches in honestly reporting the Pope’s idea of ‘evangelism.’ Seriously, we have had this discussion on here and across the web with some parties vigorously defending the redeemability of the term ‘evangelize’ and then the Pope comes along and clearly demonstrates that he embraces the history of ‘conquest,’ validating every fear any reasonable Jew ever had.
The following article by Breaking Israel News clearly demonstrates why we must distance ourselves not just from the terms but the history of ‘Christian missionizing.’ The Papacy not only embraces and defends jihad, but they also seek to assist Islam into what they hope will be peaceful coexistence, a demonstrable disaster.
I’m just shaking my head in disbelief at this article and the plethora of errors it demonstrates from the assumed leader of Christianity. Wow. Just more evidence the ride is gonna get bumpy and we need to draw near to God and to our brother Judah while distancing ourselves from the falsehoods our fathers walked in.
Islam and Christianity share the “same idea of conquest”, and for that reason, Islam should not be viewed as a threat, said Pope Francis in a newspaper interview this week.
“It is true that the idea of conquest is inherent in the soul of Islam,” he conceded to the French Catholic newspaper La Croix. “However, it is also possible to interpret the objective in Matthew’s Gospel, where Jesus sends his disciples to all nations, in terms of the same idea of conquest.”
Ostensibly, the Pope was drawing a parallel between the Islamic “conquest” known as jihad, a holy war or struggle waged against infidels, and Christian missionizing. Continue reading article…

As a wise man once said … “Abuse, is not excuse, for misuse”. If you want to be consistent, and go down the road of rejecting everything that the roman church has “done, accepted, taught, etc.” … you will be posting for a long time.
The point is that YHWH, in His Scriptures, uses the word “evangelize”, or evangelist, or some variation. Yes … we are dealing with English words. Or as Sergeant Alvin York said in the movie, “We ain’t got no English … only Americans”. The point being is that the Scriptures teach us that “evangelism” is a good thing … even a commandment. The problem is that too many people have taken that word, or practice, and have attached their own personal, or denominational strings. In other words, they redefined what the Scriptural meaning was, and they attached meanings and practices like “forced” … “coerced” … and that sort of thing.
In response to the horrible actions of others, too many people have swung the pendulum to the other side … way too far to the other side … and have redefined the Scriptural meaning of “evangelism”. This is also an error.
I’m trying to get my head around the mindset that my brethren are putting themselves in a position that they have to ignore the Scriptures that encourage us to be evangelists, I have to ask, what is next? What other Scriptures are you going to twist, turn, redefine, or ignore?
In addition, we all need to realize that this type of situation is a “straw man”. In other words, no one that I know of is in favor of any type of coercion or forced conversion. But we can not allow others to redefine what evangelism truly is. We can not follow this new definition, that we can only respond if someone asks us a question. There is no Scriptural support for this new doctrine.
And even if there were, how much am I allowed to share? Am I only able to say that Yeshua is my Messiah … but heaven forbid, if I tell a Jewish person that He is their Messiah too, because they didn’t ask that question? Have I then stepped over the line and gone over in to the realm of evangelism? May YHWH bless me.
This blog post had me pondering, as in reading the article referred to from Breaking Israel News it doesn’t use the word evangelism, evangelize or evangelist. However, I do see the word Christian missionizing and conquest used. This causes me to ponder the question, could there be some confusion between the comparison of evangelism and missionizing/conquest? The word evangelism isn’t in the bible, however evangelist and evangelists are. And it is my understanding that an evangelist was mainly a writer of the four gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. In 2nd Timothy 4:5, Paul told Timothy to do the work of an evangelist, to fulfill his ministry….and in Acts Philip also is called an evangelist. Ephesians 4:11 gives evangelists as a position that was given to some for the equipping of the saints and edifying the body for the work of the ministry, as were the other titles listed. Maybe the discussion should be more about the word “gospel” instead as Yeshua commanded His disciples to preach in Mark 16:15 and ask ourselves how we are sharing it as described in Mathew 28:19-20 and also along with the Apostle Paul’s example in many areas, rather than comparing a word that isn’t in the bible with the word’s the Pope uses in his statement, i.e.,”Christian missionizing and conquest”. As, we know, there is a true gospel and a false gospel. And this true gospel all over the world is bearing fruit and growing as spoken of in Colossians 1:6. So may we also consider praying as Yeshua commanded us to in Mathew 9:37-38, regarding the sending out of the laborers, ….as the harvest truly is plentiful and the workers are few.
Blessings to you and your family,
