Ever wonder why most pastors and ‘theologically trained’ people don’t get this Torah awakening?

It is a common lament: “My pastor just doesn’t see this,” or, “My family knows their Bible forwards and backwards, why don’t they understand?”

For me, as a former pastor who began Torah observance and see clearly it’s current relevance and continuity, I am in an exceedingly small minority. Why?

We’ll, this morning my good friend Al McCarn sent me a link that totally explains a most mystifying set of parables and answers the question concerning why the Hebrew Roots and Messianic community is so full of seemingly brigands and theologically untrained. Perhaps, Abba has done this intentionally, because, He has done this before….

After reading this, much suddenly snapped into focus! Enjoy!! (and, discuss…)

Torah obedience = blessing.

Over and over, Scripture attests that keeping Torah, obeying the everlasting commandments, leads to blessing.  How Christendom ever abandoned the things God calls a “blessing” is a mystery and a tragedy that is theologically indefensible.

May the people of God within the Christian religion have the humble audacity to read Scripture without deminational and doctrinal filters, then act on it.

Praise the Lord ! How blessed is the man who fears the Lord , Who greatly delights in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.

How RtB changed a man’s life and marriage

The tension between them was visible and he was clearly not comfortable.  My wife and I sat to the left of them for dinner on the first evening of the Second B’ney Yosef North America Summit in Mesa AZ.  His somewhat pointed and at times combative conversation with the gentleman to his right was curious, particularly because he was aggressive towards the Messianic perspective, yet he was in attendance at a BYNA event!

I listened a few minutes and realized his wife was ‘all in’ and he, not understanding even RtB ad FB clickbasic Hebraic thought, was here to protect her.  Later, I found out she was fervently praying for him and was happy that he had even come to dinner.  His plan, as I understood it, was to not participate at all.

My passion is to compassionately and clearly explain what we believe, and why, from the Scriptures.  I have a Masters of Divinity and ten years of experience in the pulpit of a Presbyterian church, yet the Father opened my eyes and showed me much more than the Reformed traditions I was reared with.  When this gentleman we were providentially seated next to mentioned his Presbyterian background, I had my opening.

We talked about twenty minutes in a conversation that began tensely Continue reading “How RtB changed a man’s life and marriage”

Christian and Jihad Conquest

Breaking Israel News has pulled no punches in honestly reporting the Pope’s idea of ‘evangelism.’  Seriously, we have had this discussion on here and across the web with some pope-arabparties vigorously defending the redeemability of the term ‘evangelize’ and then the Pope comes along and clearly demonstrates that he embraces the history of ‘conquest,’ validating every fear any reasonable Jew ever had.

The following article by Breaking Israel News clearly demonstrates why we must distance ourselves not just from the terms but the history of ‘Christian missionizing.’  The Papacy not only embraces and defends jihad, but they also seek to assist Islam into what they hope will be peaceful coexistence, a demonstrable disaster.

I’m just shaking my head in disbelief at this article and the plethora of errors it demonstrates from the assumed leader of Christianity. Wow.  Just more evidence the ride is gonna get bumpy and we need to draw near to God and to our brother Judah while distancing ourselves from the falsehoods our fathers walked in.

Islam and Christianity share the “same idea of conquest”, and for that reason, Islam should not be viewed as a threat, said Pope Francis in a newspaper interview this week.

“It is true that the idea of conquest is inherent in the soul of Islam,” he conceded to the French Catholic newspaper La Croix. “However, it is also possible to interpret the objective in Matthew’s Gospel, where Jesus sends his disciples to all nations, in terms of the same idea of conquest.”

Ostensibly, the Pope was drawing a parallel between the Islamic “conquest” known as jihad, a holy war or struggle waged against infidels, and Christian missionizing.  Continue reading article…

Email from Ephraim and Rimona Frank

Here is an excellent email I received from Ephraim and Rimona Frank.  It was a blast to their distribution list, so some may have seen it…

Shalom Fellow Israelite,

The other day I had to go and buy myself a new study bible, as the old one was falling apart.   Upon arriving home and opening it, I started reading a text that caught my eye.  At first I didn’t know where this excerpt was from but the following is what captured my thoughts:  Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.  For YHVH has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.  The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, ‘Read this, please.’ And he says, ‘I cannot, for it is sealed.’  Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, ‘Read this, please.’ And he says, ‘I am not literate.’ Therefore YHVH said: ‘Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men. Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work among this people, a marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden’” (Isaiah 29:9-14).

Dismantling a huge old oak…

All the wind and water in SC has been hard on old trees.  Particularly ones that are dead in the middle.  Here’s a pic of me 15′ up running a chainsaw  dismantling one.  Takes time and is dangerous.  The tree doesn’t appreciate big limbs being removed, but it has to be cleaned up.  The key is figuring out which part/support to remove when.

If the Law was not given to Gentiles, then how did Y’shua save Gentiles from the condemnation of the Law?

If the Law was not given to Gentiles, then how did Y’shua save Gentiles from the condemnation of the Law?.

I like this pity blurb!  There are only two possible answers, neither of which the ‘church’ wants to deal with.

Marinate!
