Do you study the Scriptures Paul studied?

In 2 Timothy 2, Paul says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

Ever pondered what he considered to be Scripture?  Funny that most of Christendom majors on Paul instead of going to his source: Genesis to Malachi.

Maybe, we need to spend more time in that which he calls Scripture so that we can rightly understand what he says…

RtB rocking teacher’s world…

Our conversation took an interesting turn!  Normally, my brief conversations with the teacher that works on the hall my office is on (I’m a school bus driver/trainer) are based on college sports or politics, but a few days ago it somehow quickly turned to tensions with North Korea and his concerns.  He was interested in my thoughts and I offered that I had recently both read and written a few articles on the Jewish sages and a couple prophecies that may point to the rogue state as causing the Gog-Magog war.

As if the conversation couldn’t turn faster, within about three sentences we were talking about Scripture and the feasts of the Lord.  He mentioned an interest but didn’t know where to start reading to understand more.  Long story short, I gave him the three minute sketch of my background as an ordained pastor, our journey to Torah and the blessings of understanding Scripture from the perspective of the authors!!  I mentioned my book, Repairing the Breach, in passing, offering a copy if he was interested.

His immediate response was an enthusiastic, “Yes!”

Well, the only copies I had were in my car, so as we parted I let him know I’d get it for him the next time I went out to the lot.

Not five minutes later, he pops back into my office and says, “I’m serious.  I want to read that book!” Continue reading “RtB rocking teacher’s world…”

Kickstarter update #2

Two weeks to go and we are not yet half way there…  While the Father has this in His hands, we are called to action.  Before us is an opportunity to share broadly what we are understanding concerning the Hebrew roots of our faith and the everlasting nature of the Torah!!  We can rise to the occasion and help bring this message through a mainstream outlet that gets 6 MILLION hits a day, or we can let this opportunity go by the boards….

Currently, we do not yet have half of the funding pledged, while half of the time has passed.  Let us not let this opportunity slip by!  Here’s what you can do:

  • Help get the word out.  Share with your social media connections!
  • Pray for the Father’s favor.
  • Give as you are able.  (I have to believe more than 16 people are able…)

How RtB changed a man’s life and marriage

The tension between them was visible and he was clearly not comfortable.  My wife and I sat to the left of them for dinner on the first evening of the Second B’ney Yosef North America Summit in Mesa AZ.  His somewhat pointed and at times combative conversation with the gentleman to his right was curious, particularly because he was aggressive towards the Messianic perspective, yet he was in attendance at a BYNA event!

I listened a few minutes and realized his wife was ‘all in’ and he, not understanding even RtB ad FB clickbasic Hebraic thought, was here to protect her.  Later, I found out she was fervently praying for him and was happy that he had even come to dinner.  His plan, as I understood it, was to not participate at all.

My passion is to compassionately and clearly explain what we believe, and why, from the Scriptures.  I have a Masters of Divinity and ten years of experience in the pulpit of a Presbyterian church, yet the Father opened my eyes and showed me much more than the Reformed traditions I was reared with.  When this gentleman we were providentially seated next to mentioned his Presbyterian background, I had my opening.

We talked about twenty minutes in a conversation that began tensely Continue reading “How RtB changed a man’s life and marriage”
