The Smashing Rock and COVID-19

Can a pestilence like COVID-19 help destroy kingdoms like the Rock in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream?

I teach a weekly Shabbat service online in addition to posts I write for different outlets, including this one. From my Shabbat group as well as news broadcasts and online articles, the Wuhan virus, aka COVID-19, as a pestilence is troubling a great many people, and some, to our sorrow, have died. Some are looking to the heavens and expecting a rapture because of this pestilence. I do not believe, nor teach, that the rapture will happen anytime before Yeshua physically returns. We have to go through the refining process here on earth with all our peoples, all Israel and the many Gentile nations. As part of the refining process, Yeshua is going to destroy human governments that are opposed to Him and His rule. He with, and through, the Holy Spirit, is preparing a people ready for him. That includes being ready to be ruled by the terms of the Mosaic Covenant made at Mount Sinai, and reaffirmed several times since, and made into a New Covenant in our hearts. Let’s consider part of the dream given to Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, and interpreted by Daniel, servant of YHVH.

“What’s the use? I’m gonna die anyway?”

His reply to my question was rather listless.

It started after Shabbat when I asked a young man in our fellowship what he wanted to study for and do when he finished school. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, “What’s the use? I’m gonna die anyway?”

I probed him with a couple more questions to diagnose the problem and quickly figured out that he was deeply concerned about the state of the world and the coming Great Tribulation. In his mind, there is nothing much to live for.

Why try?

My immediate response was a vigorous reminder that we have at least 1000 years to go! The Tribulation is not the end. It is a beginning!! A beginning to the millennial reign! Others gathered around, wondering what the hubbub was, and it turned into a wonderful impromptu lesson for all who had lingered.

Does the coming eclipse portent radical change?

There has been an abundance of media coverage concerning the upcoming eclipse, so I do not want to rehash the blah, blah, blah. Rather, I would like to share two links I found very interesting and then offer a possible scenario that may currently be unfolding…

In the past I have shared a few things from Dr. Dale Sides, a Christian astronomer, who has a very interesting perspective on things in the heavens. The following teaching concerning the eclipse is a MUST SEE as he shares a few significant points nobody else is talking about. After hearing this, I agree with him that the eclipse is meant to point to something else… namely, the events in the heavens at the point of totality.
