Monogamy-only is a common teaching of the Christian church, most Hebrew roots, and most of Judaism. But, is that a doctrine that invokes curses and the wrath of God? Really?
Let’s take a look!
The above image indicates that all four of the pictured curses are invoked by teaching the ‘monogamy-only‘ doctrine. Let’s consider each in turn.
16 ‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
Deuteronomy 27
I have heard so many monogamy-only defenses include derogatory or grossly negative statements about Jacob and his four wives. Many other Godly men of Israel are disparaged as well, however, the cognitive dissonance of singing the Psalms of David and praises of Jacob/Israel while stating wildly negative statements about their righteous marriage choices is almost unbearable. Those who do so dishonor their fathers and mothers whom God never addresses in the negative regarding their polygynous marriages.
Scripture clearly says, ‘Honor your father and your mother that your days may be long in the Land.’ Speaking ill of Jacob and Leah/Rachel/Bilhah/Zilpah is to break the fourth commandment and invoke God’s curse!
17 ‘Cursed is he who moves his neighbor’s boundary mark.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
Deuteronomy 27
Christian missionaries destroyed Africa by breaking up polygynous marriages and condemning women and children to poverty, prostitution, and shame, a situation well documented by Lauren Heiligenthal. But, modern, western teachers do exactly the same evil when they prevent Godly men from taking proper care of the families God places in front of them. Simply, if God calls a man to love and care for more than one woman, who are you, O man, to use false doctrine to force the man to choose between or divide the tent/boundary that God has called him to? This wickedness invokes God’s anger and curse precisely because you are moving that man’s boundary marker.
18 ‘Cursed is he who misleads a blind person on the road.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
Deuteronomy 27
Much of Christendom are blind sheep simply following the teachings of the pastors, teachers, and rabbis. When said teachers promote a false doctrine, the blind sheep are misled and caused to stumble as they walk in false doctrine. Without diving into deep detail, recognize that millions of families and lives have been irreparably damaged by the false doctrine of monogamy-only. Pastors have been ruined, men have been destroyed, and women and children have been left without cover or protection because of the false monogamy-only doctrine. Those who teach this abomination are under a curse according to the above verse, moreso when they teach the falsehood knowingly!
Yes, I have had prominent Hebrew roots leaders and teachers tell me to my face, ‘I see it [truth of plural marriage] in Scripture, but you will never hear me say that in public!’ The above quoted verse should scare the ever-loving hell out of them, particularly if they are reading this!! Repentance and radical course reversal is the only remedy!
19 ‘Cursed is he who distorts the justice due an alien, orphan, and widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
Deuteronomy 27
It is important to note that an ‘orphan’ is Scripture is one who is fatherless, not motherless. And, a widow can include divorcee when one accounts for the purpose of a woman and the root word in the Greek. A woman, divorced or widowed, is an empty void without a man.
The highest justice due an orphan or widow is a Godly man who will take them under his covering and provide, protect, and care for them. To teach the monogamy-only doctrine that prevents a man from caring for more than one woman is to ‘distort the justice due’ them and invokes this curse.
In four concise verses God lays a monstrous burden on those who teach or agree with monogamy-only and claim it as Biblical truth. In fact, monogamy-only is a false teaching, derived from Greco-Roman law, that has zero support in Scripture. Teaching or agreeing with it, particularly knowingly, is to invoke a number of curses.
May the Father break our hearts for truth and for those most in need among us!!

Very sobering…no matter how hard you try, you can’t change the narrative of Scripture that runs from Gen 1:1 thru the end of Revelations….it all fits together perfectly….like a beautiful puzzle
