The young men in our fellowship embraced a unique opportunity over the last 24 hours. One of their numbers has been struggling with a particular issue regarding anxiety and racing thoughts. Our young men decided to follow in their fathers’ footsteps and covenant for a day of fasting and prayer!
The respective fathers joined in and eight of us assaulted the Throne on behalf, unknown to him, of this young brother. As the fast neared completion, I received a text from his father saying that the young man had cited multiple times through the day how awesome he felt. ‘Best day in a long time…’
It is not uncommon in our fellowship for the men, most heads of houses, to do a two day fast on behalf of each other, particular issues, etc., but this was the first time the aspiring ‘young bucks’ joined us. In hindsight, I wonder why we haven’t invited them before. Nevertheless, it was Yah’s time and He showed up!
As our understanding of patriarchy has grown and as we have slowly implemented lessons into our fellowship, we have seen again and again how God honors His Word and His authority structure. (This is not to say the ladies do not pray for each other, they do, but Scripture demonstrates a specific role for men and their houses.)
What began to come into focus for me as I pondered what we witnessed was three heads of houses leading their ‘fire teams’ on a combined operation against the adversary! ~Exactly how elders in a patriarchal community are to function! So exciting I may not sleep tonight!
God has a specific way that He spells out in Scripture! The man is head of his home and he is to train his sons as warriors. When he does so and begins to team up in community with other likeminded men, things happen! God moves!
Praise Yah, so exciting to be used and to be learning how a Biblical community is to operate! Even more exciting to be leading my sons on this mission of discovery and spiritual warfare.
