A few months ago a friend sent me a now viral video of a bunch of Marines singing ‘These are the Days of Elijah.’ Again, a dear friend forwarded it to me a couple days ago (thanks, Connie). Certainly, it is a heart-warming and worshipful video, and I was blessed again. But I have to wonder…
Do they, or most of Christendom, understand the very words that they are singing? I dare say not, even as their tongues manifest the move of the Spirit in our day.
Let’s take a brief look at the lyrics and see what this incredible song is actually saying and what they are professing. [My comments interspersed]
“Days Of Elijah”
These are the days of Elijah
Declaring the word of the Lord, yeah
And these are the days of Your servant, Moses
Righteousness being restored
The days of Elijah, the days of Moses… Malachi 4:4-6 are the last three verses in the ‘Old Testament.’ The reference there to Elijah and Moses is in conjunction with ‘The Day of the Lord!’ Further, the reference to ‘Moses’ is specifically telling the reader/hearer to ‘remember the Torah of Moses, even the statutes and the ordinances…‘
The singer is specifically calling for the Torah Awakening that we are witnessing across the planet! “Righteousness being restored!!”
These are the days of great trials
Of famine and darkness and sword
Still we are the voice in the desert crying
Prepare ye the way of the Lord!Say, behold He comes, riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun, at the trumpet’s call
Lift your voice, (it’s) the year of Jubilee
Out of Zion’s hill, salvation comes
Salvation comes out of Zion’s Hill! Ever read Isaiah 2:1-5, or Micah 4:1-5? “The TORAH will go forth from Zion!!” The singer calls for the Torah to go forth from ‘My Holy Hill!’
And these are the days of Ezekiel
The dry bones becoming as flesh
And these are the days of Your servant, David
Rebuilding the temple of praise
Ezekiel? Are you kidding me? Dry bones? Please read Ezekiel 37 in context!! This passage is about the ‘(Good) Shepherd’ restoring the tent of DAVID and bringing together the ‘whole House of Israel!!’ The dry bones and the Two Stick prophecy are intimately connected!
Further, ‘rebuilding the temple of praise…’ refers to the Millennial Temple which Ezekiel wrote about in chapters 40-48. Please read it and see if there is a single shred of pagan trappings in the worship. There is sacrifice. There is the Prince. There are priests and a temple. But noticeably absent are Christmas, Easter and Sunday. The future Temple, built and hosted by the Messiah will NOT be Christian in any way shape or form. It will adhere to the Torah of our God, else God is a liar and the Prince is a fraud! (A thousand references support this!)
And these are the days of the harvest
The fields are all white in the world
And we are the laborers that are in Your vineyard
Declaring the Word of the LordSay, behold He comes, riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun at the trumpet’s call
Lift your voice, (it’s) the year of Jubilee
Out of Zion’s hill, salvation comesBehold He comes, riding on the clouds

Lift your voice, (it’s) the year of Jubilee
Out of Zion’s hill, salvation comesThere’s no God like Jehovah!
There’s no God like Jehovah!
There’s no God like Jehovah!
There’s no God like Jehovah!
Jeremiah 16:21 says, “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know- This time I will make them know My power and My might; And they shall know that
MY NAME IS YEHOVAH!!!”
There’s no God like Jehovah!
There’s no God like Jehovah!
There’s no God like Jehovah!
There’s no God like Jehovah! There’s no God like Jehovah!
There’s no God like Jehovah!

Folks, this song SCREAMS, “Messianic Torah Observance!!”
I sang it for years and missed all of the references. It was a wonderful feel-good Spirit moving song that has a warrior’s edge, yet I never understood all of the references! Today, it is a call to Spiritual arms for the battle of the truth in Scripture and a clear understanding of where the Shekinyah is moving the Body!!
Do not be left in the wilderness, rather, recognize that Yehovah is on the move and it is time to pull up stakes and follow where He leads as He brings the Body to the next place in His plan of Redemption! The whole House of Israel is being restored. Torah is being restored and the Messiah is being revealed as Jew and Gentile are being brought to The Way.
Thank you for putting down in writing things that have stirred my heart about this song since I first sang it many years ago! It’s always a thrill to see how the Ruach communicates the same truth to YHVH’s people.

Thank you for all of your recent contributions!!
As I was writing this blog the Spirit reminded me of a time years ago when I was singing this in a church and had questions stirring in the back of my mind… May the Spirit stir the minds of every singer and awaken them to the deeper truths hidden in the Scriptures.

John and I still vividly recall the day that we first heard this song. We were still very active in the Christian church. We had gone to visit a nearby church in Georgia, and during worship they sang this song. While we were singing, John and I kept looking at one another with big grins on our faces, eyes wide with the joy of discovering something unexpected. After the service, we described to each other how each of us had goose bumps while singing the song, and that JOY had leaped in our hearts. We didn’t understand it, but we KNEW that this song was meaningful on a much deeper level than we could at present grasp. We knew it was prophetic – not just quoting prophecy, but prophetic for TODAY.
Of course after we became messianic, it all just ‘fell in place’ – we actually use that as our theme song when we lead worship now.
A few years ago I googled the author of the song to see what he had to say about it. He genuinely has NO IDEA of the depth of the song that the Ruach gave him!!

Truth be known it has probably been used to stir many awake, not understanding the stirrings within the spirit and soul. Blessed be our King.

Learned much of this in a very cool messianic congregation led by Rabbi David Liebe..a ex–Southern Baptist Preacher! ALL it took was ONE Feast of Tabernacle observation to really know that the church does NOT KNOW what she is missing! They still don`t wanna hear it in these parts ( Moravian Falls NC) A few scattered here n there do….i had such freedom, n truly miss it ,as i am now in a small prophetic church, we have more problems than u can shake a stick at, n it`s because the commandments, and the SPIRIT of God`s Torah are not being observed fully. Have a wonderful pastor who is BEYOND the pagan holidays tho, ..ONE jezebel spirit in a messianic camp gets dealt w/swiftly n harshly if need be, this spirit crushes people…n runs rampant today..
