Next Shabbat I have the pleasure of teaching the Portion at the fellowship we are currently attending, so this morning I was reading ahead and pondering anew Vayishlach. While there are several terrific pieces I plan to study as I prepare, verse 35:1 reminded me of a post I put on here about two weeks ago, “Ya’acov saw Elohim (God) face to face…” It is a passage that affirms Ya’acov’s very personal encounter with the Living One.
35:1 God said > to – Jacob >> Arise > -go up > [to] Beth-el > and dwell > there >> and make > there > an altar > to the God > Who appeared > to you > when you fled > from > Esau > your brother. (Capitalized ‘Who’ is their emphasis)
My regular readers are familiar with Rabbi Itzhak Shapira and his book, The Return of the Kosher Pig, from a number of posts referring to him in one way or another. Frankly, I love this brother in Messiah and his passion for bring the good news to his people.
In the recent past he has had several really special opportunities for which he has needed to raise funds. It has been a blessing to participate.
Today, I received an email about another such opportunity and I want to share it with you. Please participate as you feel led!!
Dear Friends, Rabbis, and close partners of Ahavat Ammi Ministries,
Last year, we had a chance to make a History in Paris, France with the revival project and the donation of a Torah scroll to congregation El Beth-El. During this event, sveral Orthodox Jewish Men received Yeshua as their Messiah. Then, earlier this year, we went to Belgium to establish another Messianic Synagogue (first in the country) to make history. Here are some highlights of our previous outreaches:
I really can’t tell you how much I enjoy listening to R. Shapira explain the presences of Yeshua and His identity in Jewish literature. It is a whole world of new wonders as Messiah is revealed and present with brother Judah… now being revealed! Here is an amazing video with beautiful views into Person of the Metatron and His presence in the Rosh Hashanah liturgy recited by every observant Jew!!
